I made this!
I don't know why I didn't think of this sooner....
I had this really thick yarn from one of my many pointless yarn-raids of Savers [a thrift store]. It feels really awful, and it's not easy to work with, but it's sturdy.
I was browsing for some sort of hook or hanging thing for my hanging plant when I came across some people selling lengths of chain as 'extenders' for the hooks I already have. I had one of those awful 'duh' moments, ran off to find the yarn and my largest crochet hook, and fairly quickly made a chain. Then I made a loop in one end by starting a new row about five loops back -- or whatever they're called -- did a second row...I think in single-crochet, and finished off by crocheting out beyond the end of the original chain, and then returning to do one final crochet in the original slipknot-loop.
It came out all spirally and neat, and it works very well.
I didn't make this next thing, but I thought it was kinda neat.
There was this mystery-thing sitting on the window-frame on the window above my front door last night when I went to check the mail. I took my camera out to get a picture of it, not actually thinking my camera would be good enough to actually get a picture of it.
This is what I got:
Or, actually, I got this big picture with this tiny brown thing in it, sitting on the window frame. That picture is a cut-out from one of the other pictures. I'm kinda impressed with the quality.
I think I'm going to get back to reading now. I've got pictures of that, too...mostly because reading seems to involve a hell of a lot of interruptions from my cat.
She's doing what she does best....
...I suppose she thinks she's helping, though.
Zombi's just awfully cute.
